Antique Hire
Hiring rather than purchasing.
If you’re a stylist planning a photoshoot or involved in film or television, you may want to consider the option of hiring antiques rather than purchasing - keeping the overall budget down and having a hassle free returns option.
How does it work?
Contact us with the items you’re interested in as well as your proposed hire dates. If these specific items aren’t available for your chosen dates we will try to offer you an alternative.
On collection, or prior to dispatch of the item(s), the full purchase price is required upfront.
Hire rates are calculated at 10% of the purchase price per item, per week.
Minimum hire charge is 1 week and then single weekly increments thereafter.
Upon the safe return of the item(s), the full amount held for each item is returned less the hire charge..
Example:
A painting priced at £1000 is hired on 1st May and returned 9th May. As we operate on weekly increments, this is regarded as 2 weeks of hire at 10% (£100) per week.
Upon the safe return of the item, the balance of the purchase price less the hire period is returned to the customer. In this example £1000 (purchase price) - £200 (hire fee) = £800.
A few points to be aware of:
Any item lost, damaged or otherwise deemed not to be in the condition it was taken will be considered sold to the hirer and no balance refund will be issued. All items must be returned in the same condition to allow them to be made immediately available again on the website.
The rental cost will never exceed the purchase price. In other words, if your rental exceeds 10 weeks the item will be assumed as purchased by the hirer and no item return will be required.
If the case in point 2 arises we will consider a buy back option of the item(s) at 50% of the original purchase price. However, this is entirely at our discretion and will be looked at on a case to case basis so cannot be relied on as a guarantee.
